Systems Therapy
Systems Therapy focuses on the patterns of behaviour within the broader context of relationships. This might include family or relationship dynamics, or work relationships. In this way, a person’s problems are seen in terms of the larger framework of relationships with others. Another way of saying this is that people are seen within the context of the ‘systems’ that they are a part of. Understanding how the different parts of the system influence each other and work together can help things to change. When working with a systems therapy approach, the focus is on promoting healthier communication, and behaviour across the system. Systems Therapy can be useful when exploring relationship or family conflict and communication problems.
