CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
In CBT, the focus is on your thoughts, your feelings, and your behaviour (ie what you do). You will learn to identify and then to be able to challenge your thoughts. Many people avoid doing certain things, either because of anxiety or depression. There are different approaches that can be used to help you in helping you to change your behaviour, moving towards the life you want to lead. You will be asked to do some things between sessions, at a pace that works for you.
There are specific types of CBT for particular problems. This includes, for example, Exposure Response Prevention for OCD and obsessional ruminations, Trauma-focused CBT, and so on.
When the therapy finishes, you will have a set of new skills and strategies to help you in any future challenges. If you're struggling with negative thought patterns or emotional difficulties, CBT can offer the tools and strategies to help you lead a more balanced, fulfilling life.
